There have been Aberdeen Angus cattle at Cairnton for well over 100 years, and the present herd is as good as they’ve ever been. Set in the middle of Aberdeenshire, less than 10 miles from where the breed was founded, with blue skies, green grass and black cows – this is heaven with an overdraft!
In 2008/2009 it was decided to diversify a little – that’s when the Bothy, Byre and Stables were converted into holiday accommodation. At the same time a biomass heating system and wind turbine were installed, so we are truly self-sufficient.
And if you need some of the finest, well matured Cairnton Aberdeen Angus beef, speak to Farmer Ken and it’ll be seen to.
